Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal is a precise and effective method that uses a concentrated beam of light to break down unwanted tattoo ink. The laser specifically targets the darker pigments in the tattoo, contrasting with the surrounding lighter skin tone. As the laser light penetrates the skin, it shatters the ink particles into microscopic fragments that are then naturally absorbed and eliminated by the body’s lymphatic system.

At our clinic, we use the advanced Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser, a device designed specifically for tattoo removal. It emits high-powered pulses of laser light in extremely short bursts, minimizing damage to the surrounding skin and significantly reducing the risk of scarring. Treatments are typically quick, with most clients experiencing only mild discomfort.

The number of sessions required depends on factors such as the tattoo’s age, depth, color, and complexity. Older tattoos or those with multiple colors and detailed designs may require additional treatments.

Our Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser effectively removes tattoos containing black, red, green, and both dark and light blue pigments. Most tattoos can be significantly faded or completely removed in 6 to 12 sessions. By matching the laser wavelength to the specific ink colors, we are able to safely and efficiently treat both single-color amateur tattoos and multi-colored professional tattoos.

How it works

Laser Technology: Tattoo removal involves the use of specialized lasers tailored to the ink color and skin type. The most commonly used are Q-switched lasers, which emit intense bursts of light energy in extremely short pulses. Among these, the Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is particularly effective, as it can target a broad spectrum of ink colors with precision and minimal impact on the surrounding skin.

Ink Fragmentation: When the laser light is directed at the tattoo, the pigment in the ink absorbs the energy, causing the ink particles to rapidly heat and break apart into smaller fragments. These microscopic particles are then gradually cleared away by the body’s immune system over time.

Multiple Sessions: Achieving full tattoo removal typically requires several treatment sessions, spaced weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and the body to flush out the fragmented ink. The total number of sessions depends on various factors, including the tattoo’s size, color, age, and the patient’s skin type.
